Day go Down

from Bare and Bones by Candace Coker Music

about

Sighs...

This song is special to my heart because it was actually written while I was sick with COVID. I was having a conversation with God about how fast paced my life had been going and how my heart seemed to come out of numbness and come alive to Him and to itself again when it had room to be slow. I remember journalling to him, "I never want to live a life where I'm too busy to watch the day go down". During that time, my partner Josiah also almost died in a car accident and my heart was processing what could have been a major loss. So on a Sunday evening in February, as the day was going down, I poured out my soul into this song. I hope this song becomes a staple for your evening drives or evening wind downs. For anyone who needs a reminder of what a heart feels like to be awake to a desire for beauty and connection, I hope this song stirs you.
